FREIGHTLINER RACING FORMS NEW ALLIANCE IN 2018

Freightliner has changed its colours in Supercar racing for the upcoming season with the Tim Slade driven Brad Jones Racing run Holden to run in a new bright yellow livery in a combined Freightliner and Alliance Truck Parts branding as Daimler announced a two year extension of its sponsorship deal with the Albury based race team.

Alliance Truck Parts, has sponsored Andrew Jones in the Super2 Series for the last three years but this year will combine with Freightliner in the top Supercar race category.

Tim Slade the Freightliner Racing Commodore topped the time sheets for the Supercars first official test day and pre season hit out at Sydney Motorsport Park last week pointing to a strong showing for the team in the year ahead.

The Freightliner Racing Commodore was seen in a one-off black and yellow livery for Alliance Truck Parts at the Townsville round back in 20 and team mate Nick Percat raced in similar colors for Freightliner at Winton last year.

“It’s been great working with the team at Freightliner and Alliance Truck Parts, so it was an easy decision to keep the partnership going. They are both superior brands, backed by a great team of people.”

“Not only do Supercars fans follow us for the racing, they absolutely love the Freightliner Coronado and Argosy prime movers we take to the tracks. They are showstoppers and often people will be lining up to get photos in front of them.”

“We gained some good momentum in the final rounds of 2017 and the couple of podium finishes saw us collect a couple of surfboards, trophies and spray some champagne, which is always a good time.”

“With a new shape and new engine package for 2018, we’re ready to move forward and want to hit the ground running in Adelaide. As always, the boys have done a ripper job on the new car build so I’m excited to get into the season ahead.”

Director of Aftersales, Daimler Truck and Bus Australia, Greg Lovrich added “We are very excited to see the 2018 Freightliner Alliance Truck Parts car in the metal and can’t wait for it to hit the track. It looks fantastic, and we know that it will also be extremely competitive with Tim behind the wheel,” he said
