Volvo Group Australia has announced the replacement. for Volvo Truck Vice President of sales, Mitch Peden, as he departs the Australian operation to take up his new role as president of Volvo Malaysia.

It has announced that Kiwi Clive Jones has been appointed to the role as Volvo Trucks’ new VP of Sales Volvo for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania markets from the 1st August.

Clive Jones comes to the new role from his position as national sales manager for Volvo Truck and Bus in New Zealand where he has worked for the past 16 years.

Volvo Group Australia President and CEO, Peter Voorhoeve has welcomed Jones to the Group leadership team.

For the past 16 years Clive has been instrumental in building the presence of Volvo Trucks and Buses in New Zealand, and we are looking forward to leveraging his deep insight gained from more than 20 years of experience in the truck industry, Mr Voorhoeve said.

Clive has been part of the Volvo family for most of his career, from the early days when he started driving a Volvo FH up and down the highways of New Zealand. He has a deep understanding of our customers and our product, and his appointment only adds to the strength of the Volvo Group Australia leadership team.

Clive Jones says he is looking forward to building on the successes of his predecessor to take the Volvo Trucks brand into an even more dominant market position.

My involvement with Volvo Group Australia spans my entire tenure with the Volvo brand, and Ive met many Australian customers along the journey thus far, he said.

I am a firm believer that our people are the key to our success and developing their skills and mindset with a customer-centric focus has been one of the ingredients of Volvo Trucks success in both Australia and New Zealand.

Alongside a passion for Volvo, being able to work with the best people in the business in Australia has been a significant part of my decision to take on this role, and I relish the challenges and opportunities it will bring.
