CHINESE WHISPERS -NEW ELECTRIC VAN SET TO HIT AUSSIE ROADS WITH LOTS OF PROMISES

Mercedes-Benz

We know what you are going to say, ‘What another new Chinese brand that  I have never heard of?”.

Well yes you are correct we do have another new Chinese brand, this time a commercial brand in the shape of a range of vans with the unusual and until now unheard of brand, Farizon.

We are told via a press release from Farizon that it is the commercial vehicle sector of  the quite well known Chinese conglomerate Geely Holding Group,.

Geely is of course a. passenger car brand as well as owning the referred Swedish brand Volvo and Polestar, the patchy British sports car brand Lotus and a number of other automotive manufacturing endeavours including holding the rights to the original London cabs.

The press release tells us that Farizon is a “Chinese new energy commercial vehicle leader”! Now come on fellas stop hiding yup light under that Bushell and tell us what your really about.

Farizon tells us that together with Jameel Motors Australia, which claims to be a leading provider of mobility solutions and  the supposed partner of choice to top automotive brands.

The company revealed  that its first model to sell in Australia is its  new V7E electric commercial van , which it claims “marks the expansion of its Australian commercial vehicle lineup with a built-for-business model engineered to meet the realities of urban delivery and commercial operations”.

The company says that it is reinforcing its commitment to commercial vehicles which are suited to urban delivery and commercial operations,  saying that its Farizon V7E offers a payload and  cargo capacity and  real-world usability on par with or better than entry-level internal combustion engine vans,

The Farizon V7E is 100 per cent electric. and the company says it has been designed to win on fundamentals first, with claimed  strong  payload, cargo volume, access and usability, while its electric power delivering a quieter drive experience and the potential for lower running costs as part of the overall value proposition. Given the current global fuel crisis triggered by the conflagration in the Middle East another electric van could be just what the doctor ordered for city based fleets.

The company says the  Farizon is aimed squarely at price-conscious couriers, contractors, sole traders and fleet operators,  and it says, particularly those “reassessing the true cost of their next work vehicle.”

Country general manager for Jameel Motors Australia Adam Lawson, said the the V7E has been developed with a clear focus on work-rate, durability and value.commented:

“The arrival of V7E reflects a clear shift in how businesses are thinking about their next commercial vehicle. Operators want capability, usability and value first,” Lawson said.

“The V7E has been developed to deliver on those fundamentals, with electric power supporting the proposition rather than defining it,” he said.

“The V7E has been designed to meet the day-to-day demands of urban delivery, trade  and fleet operations boasting payload of more than 1,300kg as well as  6.95 cubic metres of cargo volume, along with a generous internal load length and a low rear loading height,”Lawson said.

Jameel Australia says that the Farizon’s  narrow, agile body, footprint and tight turning circle make it well-suited to high-frequency routes, loading zones and job-site access, while its lightweight, responsive design supports efficient movement through congested metro environments. Lets hope that the Farizon lives up to the hype put forward by its new Australian masters.

The company also claims that it has been engineered around real working conditions and how light commercial vehicles are actually used with frequent stops, tight access, daily loading and high utilisation.

The company claims the the V7E supports “confident performance in stop-start conditions”, and that it offers a driving range of up to 330km on a single charge,, and that it is supported by advanced CATL LFP battery technology, which is designed for durability and repeat daily use, while it stays the cargo area provides practical capacity for parcels, tools and trade equipment.

It added that the V7E benefits from a suite of modern safety, comfort and connectivity features designed for everyday commercial use,  which is apparently like the Farizon SV range.

it also claims that this includes comprehensive driver assistance systems, advanced connectivity with smartphone integration, and safety technology engineered to support driver confidence and daily productivity.

To state the bleeding obvious, given the current fuel crisis, Jameel Australia says the  V7E enters the Australian market at a time when many operators are reassessing rising fuel, servicing and operating costs, alongside the introduction of more sustainable processes.

The company says the Farizon V7E offers a “compelling alternative for businesses looking to lower ongoing costs without changing how they work” by removing fuel dependency and reducing mechanical complexity.

“Many operators are reassessing the true cost of running traditional ICE vans and looking for alternatives that do not require a change in how they work., and the V7E delivers the payload and usability businesses expected from a light commercial vehicle, while offering the potential for lower ongoing costs and simplified ownership over time,” Lawson added.

Jameel claims the  arrival of the V7E “marks a significant step in Farizon’s Australian rollout’,  and that it reinforces the brand’s focus on practical, purpose-built commercial vehicles engineered around real operating conditions.

The company tells us that  the complete vehicle specifications, variant details and pricing will be officially announced in next month in April, adding that the V7E  will bw available for delivery from May.

To give a bit of background Jameel Motors  says that it represents “some of the world’s most recognised commercial and passenger vehicle brands and has operations in more than 10 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia”.

The company says that this new collaboration marks another milestone as it continues to expand internationally and to in a not too understated way,  “harnesses innovation for the future of mobility”..

The company  says that expressions of interest are now open ahead of the V7E’s arrival in Australia, via the Farizon Australia website at farizonauto.au.
