Industry luminary Peter Langworthy, the former MD of Dana Australia and executive of Iveco and PACCAR has passed away after a long battle with cancer
Peter was devoted to the commercial vehicle industry after a lifetime in a variety of roles in side some of the dominant players in the industry in Australia.
In recent times he steered Dana as its MD from 2010 to 2017 when he stepped aside to fight his illness.
Langworthy was a devoted servant to the commercial vehicle industry over many years, serving two stints at Iveco and a key role at PACCAR before his role at Dana where he transformed the company into a key strategic supplier of axles, diffs and components to the truck manufacturing industry and other automotive segments.
Langworthy turned Dana around in Australia and broadened its focus from a company supplying parts Ford Australia to one serving a much wider customer base and moved the company into a consolidated, purpose-built operation in the Melbourne suburb of Keysborough.
Langworthy also served as president of the Heavy Vehicle Industry of Australia in a full and fruitful career. Truck and Bus News offers its condolences to Peter’s family and friends.
