Volvo owned famed US based truck brand Mack has just revealed that two of its key models, the Trident and Super-Liner have benefited from a retro themed facelift.
Mack said that the project was locally driven and has gives both models a new squared off face with quad 7-inch LED headlights for better nighttime visibility.
The company claims that the new look pays homage to the brand’s heritage of building tough trucks for tough conditions.
“This new look for Trident and Super-Liner really nails what Mack Trucks in Australia represents,” said Mack Trucks Australia’s vice president, Tony O’Connell.
“We’re a brand that has help build this country into what it is today, from construction and infrastructure projects in our cities to the legendary road trains that are the lifeblood of our outback communities,” said O’Connell.
“If there’s a thankless task involved there’s a good chance there’s a Mack involved as well,” he said.
“These trucks are a great example of what our local engineering team and our factory can do,” said O’Connell,
“We’ve listened to what our customers want and now we’ve delivered and I’m very pleased to see these unique trucks come to life,” he added.
The company tells us that the updated axle forward Trident is powered by the 13 litre 535hp 1,920lb/ft MP8 powerplant with a choice of 12, 13 or 14-speed m-Drive transmissions, while the heavy haul Super-Liner is equipped with the 17 litre MP11 powerplant at power ratings ranging from 600 to 700 horsepower and up to a class leading 780hp with what Mack terms as ‘a stump pulling torque rating’ of 2,800 lb/ft.
