The ATA announced this week that it has opened nominations for its 2026 National Trucking Industry Awards.

The ATA says the awards recognise businesses and individuals who “go the extra mile” to improve their workplaces and contribute to an industry that keeps Australia moving.

The ATA said that it thanked the  award sponsors for enabling it to offer  prizes for the winners,  including cash, a trip to the United States, not to mention  the respect of all.

“The trucking industry is full of hard-working people and organisations who keep the freight moving across our vast continent. They deal with huge challenges every day and come back the next morning to do it all over again,” ATA Chair Mark Parry said.

“The National Trucking Industry Awards honour their contributions to our industry – and Australia,” he said.

The award categories now open and include Outstanding Contribution to the Australian Trucking Industry, sponsored by ATA Foundation Sponsors BP, NTI and Volvo Trucks, the National Professional Driver of the Year, sponsored by bp, NTI and Volvo Trucks, the National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year, sponsored by Cummins South Pacific, and the National Trucking Industry Workforce Award, sponsored by Teletrac Navman.

Nominations for these awards must be received by 11.00pm Eastern daylight time on Sunday 15 March this year.

The ATA said that the  award winners will be revealed on Friday 5 June 2026 at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner, to be held on Hamilton Island as part of Trucking Australia 26.

On the night, the recipients of the TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award, sponsored by AEI Insurance Broking Group, and the Don Watson Memorial Award will also be announced. The winners of these awards are chosen from a range of exceptional people and businesses. They do not need to nominate to be considered.
