SCANIA SETS NEXT GEN LAUNCH DATE

Scania has confirmed its new generation truck will make its global debut 23 August, coinciding with the brand’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

The new generation is the largest investment in new products and services, and is set to be rolled out over several phases, starting with the European long-haul market.

Each phase will have a clear focus on different industry segments and sold in parallel to Scania’s existing offerings.

Executive vice president of sales and marketing Christian Levin remains tight lipped about the specifics of the new generation trucks, but has great confidence in what is to come.

“We are now in the final phase of preparing the sales and service network as well as the European production units. At the moment, we are not providing any further information about the many innovations, which are in store but I am convinced that what Scania will unveil on 23 August will be talked about – both inside and outside the industry,” he said.

Scania’s latest push to become the industry leader in sustainability also saw its involvement in the world’s first electric road corridor, supplying specifically built trucks for the joint project in Sweden.
