German global truck behemoth, Daimler trucks has announced that the managing director and CEO of Daimler Trucks India, Satyakam Arya, will become the president and CEO of Hino Motors from 1 April 2026.
The announcement comes after the revelation that most of the senior executives of the new joint venture company, Archion will be former Daimler and Fuso executives, with Hino’s former CEO moved into the role of chief technical officer at the new joint company.
Daimler said in its statement that Satyakam will lead Hino’s global operations and transformation from Tokyo, marking a significant leadership appointment for Daimler and Toyota’s planned integration of their commercial vehicle subsidiaries Fuso and Hino.
The appointment is scheduled to take effect with the planned commencement of Archion’s operations on 1 April next year, but it is subject to approval by the relevant boards of directors and to the’ timely completion of necessary approvals from shareholders and authorities’.
In June this year, Daimler Truck, Fuso, Hino and Toyota Motor Corporation concluded definitive agreements on integrating Fuso and Hinom with the aim being a new listed holding company to start operations in April next year.
