ELECTRIC TRUCK ALLOYS – FUSO CONNECTS LOW CARBON ALUMINIUM DELIVERIES TO TRUCK BODY BUILDER VIA eCANTER

Daimler Trucks Australia has revealed that leading aluminium manufacturer, extruder and distributor Capral Aluminium has made its first zero emission deliveries thanks to a Fuso eCanter via leading WA logistic operator   Goldstar Transport

Goldstar took delivery of the first two Fuso eCanters back in December 2022, and became the first transport company in WA to add the battery electric Canter  to its fleet. Truck and Bus News was on hand to witness the hand over of the eCanter to  Goldstar Transport  MD, Sean Curran by head of Daimler Trucks Overseas, Andreas von Wallfeld as the major fleet made the first steps to decarbonising its operation.

In the statement Daimler revealed that the first  Capral Aluminium products were delivered by the Goldstar eCanter to local customer Bull Motor Bodies, which was apparently excited to receive its first zero emission deliveries via a  battery electric truck that operates ‘near-silently and produces zero local emissions’.

According to the  statement Capral Aluminium has just introduced a low a lower-carbon primary aluminium option available across its locally manufactured extruded aluminium products called LocAL and Bull Motor Bodies says it appreciates the opportunity to start receiving Capral Aluminium delivered by an electric truck.

“Sustainability is very much at the forefront at Bull Motor Bodies,” said its general manager, Simon Rawnsley.

“A part of the tendering process for large corporate fleets around Australia is that fact that we are working towards net zero as an organisation, so it is important to have things like this as part of our supply chain,” Rawnsley said.

Capral Aluminium Industrial Solutions state manager for Western Australia, Nigel Williamson, said the company was pleased to kick start zero emissions deliveries with the Bull Motor Bodies order.

“It is important for the environment. It is in-line with our Capral initiative to reduce emissions and it represents a positive step forward,” Williamson said.

Goldstar Transport managing director, Sean Carren, said he is delighted to help customers along their emission reduction journeys.

“Goldstar Transport is really excited to have the zero emission Fuso eCanter as part of the fleet and work with companies like Capral who really want to make a difference,” he says.

“We are committed to lead when it comes to zero emission transport and are working towards introducing larger zero emission trucks with our partners at Daimler Trucks, who share our vision,” Carren concluded.

Goldstar Transport, employs 400 people and has a fleet of more than 150 trucks.

Fuso was the first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to introduce an electric truck in Australia when the eCanter was launched locally in 2021. It has proven itself in the field, working for several leading fleets with backing from the vast Daimler Truck Australia dealership network.
