HINO’S FIELDING GETS GONG FROM BUS INDUSTRY COUNCIL

Hino Australia’s bus stalwart Kevin Fielding has been awarded the prestigious Supplier of the Year Award at the Bus Industry Confederation’s (BIC) 2022 Australian Industry Awards.

Fielding was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the Australian bus industry during his career that has spanned over 50 years.

“The BIC Australian Industry Awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward excellence within the Australian bus and coach industry,” said Sara Clark, manager of bus for Hino Australia.

“There are many corporations in our industry that strive for excellence without compromise to deliver outstanding products and services to the Australian bus market, and it is only every second year that just five national awards are presented,” she continued.

“I would like to congratulate Kevin on behalf of the team at Hino Australia,” continued Clark.

The award criteria includes continuous support for BIC and State Associations, participation in Association committees and working groups plus a minimum of ten years involvement in the industry as a company or individual.

Fielding, who started his career as an apprentice heavy vehicle mechanic 56 years ago, was presented with his award by the Hon. Mark Bailey MP, Queensland Minister for Transport and Main Roads, and Tony Hopkins, Chair – Bus Industry Confederation.

“To receive an award such as this from my peers is truly an honour – I am so fortunate to work in an industry that I love with people who are as passionate about it as I am,” said  Kevin Fielding, who will celebrate his 25 year anniversary at Hino Australia next year.

Fielding has served as a BIC Councillor and on a number of state association committees during his time at Hino.
