Well-known auction house, Pickles, has announced it will be auctioning off an array of Mack and Volvo prime movers belonging to one of New South Wales’ best-known independent transport operatorHannahs Haulage.
The auction due later this month will bring more than $2 million worth of trucks and trailers to market in a standalone auction by Pickles running from yesterday 28th to tomorrow Wednesday the 30th September.
According to Pickles, the Hannah’s Haulage fleet rotation will feature six Volvo and Mack prime movers and 14 late-model Vawdrey trailers including flat top curtainsiders from its Sydney-based operation, .
The auctioneers tell us that Hannah’s Haulage has grown into a significant Australian linehaul operation servicing customers across a range of industries, since being founded by Scott Hannah in 2000 with a single truck,
As Pickles said the distinctive Hannah’s Haulage fleet has become a familiar sight on Australian roads, while Hannah himself has become a prominent voice within the road transport industry.
According to Pickles’ sales executive for trucks and machinery, Judy Hill the standalone sale represents a rare opportunity for transport operators to acquire equipment directly from a highly regarded fleet.
“Hannah’s Haulage is very well known within the transport industry and there will be plenty of operators who recognise these trucks as soon as they see the livery,” Hill said.
“What makes this sale particularly interesting is the concentration of assets coming to market at the same time, because we’re talking about six prime movers and 14 late-model trailers with a combined fleet value of around $2 million, from brands including Volvo, Mack, and Vawdrey,” she said.
“For operators looking to expand their fleet, replace existing equipment or secure additional capacity, it’s an opportunity to assess a substantial group of transport assets from the one well-known operator.”
Managing director of Hannah’s Haulage, Scott Hannah said maintaining quality equipment had always been central to the way the company operated.
“In transport, your equipment is your business, and we’ve always taken the view that you look after your gear, invest in the right equipment, and make safety and reliability a priority,” Hannah said.
“We’ve been doing this for more than 25 years and there’s a lot of pride attached to the Hannah’s Haulage name and the trucks that carry it.
“We know there will be buyers out there who understand these brands, understand what these assets can do and are looking for equipment they can put to work. Pickles gives us the ability to take the sale to that national buyer market.”
Hill said the standalone format would also allow Pickles to put the strength of both brands behind the campaign.
“Hannah’s Haulage has a strong identity and an established reputation in trucking, so this isn’t a sale where we want the vendor disappearing into the background,” Hill said.
“We want buyers to know exactly where this fleet has come from. Combining the Hannah’s Haulage name with Pickles’ national buyer reach should make for a very competitive three days of bidding.”
Pickles tells us that the Hannah’s Haulage fleet rotation will open on Monday 28th September and close on Wednesday 30th September, with bidding via PicklesONLINE.
