You could say it has been brewing for some time but two Queensland family businesses this week announced they were strengthening their partnership, with Followmont Transport and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, with an expansion of Followmont’s freight service for the family-owned Australian beverage producer.
Folowmont has introduced four new co branded B-double combinations to celebrate its relationship with Bundaberg after what began as a third-party logistics (3PL) arrangement servicing New South Wales in 2022 and which has now grown to include Queensland operations.
Followmont will now be taking on additional freight movements into and out of Bundaberg, with the growth driven by strong service performance from Followmont’s teams in New South Wales and Brisbane.
The transport company says it has been supported by its agent partners, which helped it deliver reliability and service standards the Bundaberg has come to expect.
The CEO of Followmont Transport, Ross Longmire said the expanded partnership reflects the hard work and commitment of the people responsible for delivering that service every day.
“Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is an iconic Queensland business, and we’re fortunate to have built a strong working relationship with their team over the years,” Longmire said.
“This expansion hasn’t happened overnight. It’s come from consistently delivering on our commitments, being open and transparent in how we work together, and having good people who genuinely care about the service we provide,” he said.
“Our New South Wales and Queensland teams, along with our agent partners, have played an important role in building that confidence and they’ve demonstrated what we can deliver, so it’s great to see that recognised through the continued growth of this partnership.”
Followmont says that under the expanded arrangement it will support additional freight across selected routes in regional Queensland, including moving bottle and can products into and out of Bundaberg.
the company has introduced four new B-double combinations featuring special Bundaberg Brewed Drinks co-branding to celebrate the growing partnership, with the units now on the road servicing the family-owned beverage company.
The partnership holds particular significance says Followmont, bringing together as it does two Queensland family businesses that share similar values and a strong commitment to their people, customers and communities.
“Seeing these new B-doubles out on the road is a great way to recognise what we’ve built together, and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow the partnership,” said Longmire.
The CEO of Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, John McLean said he welcomed the partnership expansion between the two Queensland businesses.
“As a proud Queensland-based family business, we value partnerships with organisations that share our commitment to reliability, strong relationships and supporting regional communities,” said McLean.
“The expansion of our partnership with Followmont will support the movement of our brewed drinks across more parts of our network, while the new co-branded B-doubles provide a visible celebration of two Queensland businesses working together,” he said.
The expanded partnership also reinforces Followmont’s long-term investment in the Bundaberg region, where the company established its depot in 2019. Since opening, the branch has become one of Followmont’s fastest-growing regional operations, reflecting the strength of the local business community and continued demand for transport services.
“Bundaberg has been a real growth area for Followmont, and we’ve continued to invest in our local operations to support the businesses and communities that rely on us,” Longmire said.
“Strengthening our partnership with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is another positive step for our local team and our broader Queensland network.”
