ISUZU ADDS TO ITS READY TO WORK RANGE WITH NEW SERVICEPACK

Light duty again proved the best performed sector in new truck sales during May

Isuzu says its new NLR 45-150 Servicepack ticks all the boxes for specialist tradespeople or contractors– and can be driven on a standard passenger car licence.

The new NLR 45-150 Servicepack is part of what Isuzu describes as its ready to work range and in typical marketing spin says that it is “Equipped with class-leading technology and the ‘can do’ attitude that accompanies Isuzu’s ready to work range.”

The Servicepack follows on from its other successful ready to work models including the factory-built Tipper models and the re-designed Tradepack and Traypack models.

The new Servicepack is crafted with a smart, flexible package which can trace its origins back to the release of the first Isuzu Tradepack model in 2003.

That was a game-changer for Isuzu back in 2003 and the entire initial range quickly sold out across the country setting a new benchmark for the light-duty sector.

Its attraction was that it came fitted with a high quality tray body, bull bar and a three-year extended warranty and was the first of its kind to be driven from the showroom, and ‘ready to work’.

Isuzu says its ready-to-work range has continued to evolve and expand bringing various application vehicles to the market ever since, and Isuzu is confident the NLR Servicepack will be every bit as popular as its predecessors.

The new NLR Servicepack model is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or Isuzu’s 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), making it easier to drive on a passenger car licence.

Ample on-board storage is provided with eight lockers of various sizes, each fitted with internal LED lighting for optimum visibility no matter what time of the day or night you’re called to work.

Between the two rows of lockers is a central storage area with load rated tie-down hooks, while the integrated-step towbar and reversing camera add to the form and functionality of the vehicle.

The NLR is both compact and nimble, with a tight turning circle and short wheel base dimensions that fit comfortably into any standard driveway – perfect when home is the base of your operations.

With a GVM of 4,500 kg, GCM of 7,000 kg and towing capacity of up to 2,500 kg, the latest ready-to-work vehicle offers strong payload backed up with serious power credentials.

It’s Powered by the Isuzu 4JJ1-TCS, 3.0 litre diesel turbo charged and intercooled engine delivering power of 110 kW @ 2,800 rpm and torque of 375 Nm @ 1,600 – 2,800 rpm and meets the Euro V emissions standards.

Isuzu Australia Chief Engineer, Product Strategy Simon Humphries says this latest offering is a real win for those tradespeople in the market for a work or field service vehicle.

“The Servicepack is the perfect fit-for-purpose solution, it’s the same size as a traditional ute and boasts a superior 1.5 tonne payload and the full suite of trucking credentials behind it.

“Drivers can be confident they’re carrying their load legally, and in turn the handling and control is second to none as the Servicepack is custom-built to carry these payloads.

“The compact proportions of the Servicepack make it perfect for accessing work sites and getting as close to the task as you need to on domestic jobs.

Safety standards are also strong in the NLR with driver and passenger airbags, pretensioner load limiting seatbelts on driver and passenger seats, Isuzu Stability Control System (IESC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-Skid Regulator (ASR) and an ECE-R29 compliant cab.

Driver comfort is also taken care of with the Digital AudioVisual Entertainment (DAVE) unit that provides a 6.2”L C D touch screen, DAB+ digital radio and fully integrated Bluetooth with voice recognition.
