As the annual swing of truck company dealer awards events. continues, Daimler Trucks has announced its winning dealers and personnel
The truck maker which sells operates the Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso brands in Australia announced the winners at a major event in Melbourne recently.
The company revealed that Daimler Trucks Townsville and Daimler Trucks Perth were named joint winners of the 2025 Daimler Truck Dealer of the Year at the function, which saw the head of Daimler Truck Overseas, Andreas von Wallfeld, and Daimler Truck Australia Pacific president and CEO, Daniel Whitehead on hand to congratulate the winners.
The company says it is the first time the award, which honours the best customer service in the Daimler Truck network across Australia and New Zealand, has been given to two dealerships.
“We tried to pick one winner, but both of these dealerships have performed so well and provided such amazing service to our customers that it simply was not possible,” Whitehead said.
RGM Maintenance group owners, Russell Newman and Greg Jackson, accepted the Daimler Trucks Townsville award. which is that dealership’s second consecutive Daimler Truck Dealer of the Year award.
Daimler said that the recognition comes just months after the company opened a new facility in Townsville. which Whitehead said makes Daimler Trucks Townsville a worthy winner.
“Russell and Greg have built an incredible business on the solid foundation of customer support,” he said.
“They’ve made a massive investment in this remarkable Daimler Trucks Townsville facility because they know it will help serve their customers over the long term. It’s no surprise their customers are so happy,” he concluded.
Whitehead presented the other 2025 Dealer of the Year award to Daimler Trucks Perth branch manager, Carly Munnelly, and Velocity Vehicle Group Australia senior vice president fleet sales and customer experience, Simon Ramsay.
“Carly, Simon and the whole team go to work every day with an unrelenting commitment to keep our customers working, no matter what,” Whitehead said.
“From the sales counter to service and parts, the team does an incredible job of supporting our customers in what would have to be one of the toughest trucking regions of the world,” he said.
RGM Maintenance dealer Daimler Trucks Rockhampton also took out the Daimler Truck Sustainable Dealer of the Year Award for 2025 while Daimler Trucks Kempsey was named the Mercedes-Benz Trucks dealer of the year for 2025.
Last year, tDaimler Trucks Kempsey led by Dean Mavin, celebrated 50 years of operation , making the award win even more special.
The company revealed that Daimler Trucks Wagga was named the Freightliner Trucks Dealer of the Year for 2025, which marks another win for the TriStar Group, which is headed up by David Warren.
The 2025 Fuso Dealer of the Year was won by popular Fuso dealer Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast.
As well the company presented a brace of individual awards, including the Heavy Duty Rookie of the Year award, which went to Matthew Salter of Daimler Trucks Adelaide, while Mercedes-Benz salesperson of the Year, which went to Michael Franke of Daimler Trucks Kempsey, Jake Bridger of Daimler Trucks Mackay as the Mercedes Service Manager of the Year and Malik Rehman of Daimler Trucks Wagga who took out Parts Manager of the Year,
In the company’s Freightliner channel, Grant Rosenthal of Daimler Trucks Adelaide was named as Freightliner Salesperson of the Year, Adam James of Daimler Trucks Wagga was named Freightliner Service Manager of the Year, while Marc O’Brien of Daimler Trucks Murwillumbah is the Parts Manager of the Year,
Peter Pobjie of Daimler Trucks Newcastle was named Fuso Rookie of the Year, Terry Broadway from Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast was awarded Salesperson of the Year, Lee Atkinson of Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast was named Fuso Service Manager of the Year and Parts Manager of the Year went to Matthew Hudson from Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast
