Global transmission and tech company Voith has announced it has developed a new cloud-based analysis solution for its Electrical Drive System and DIWA automatic transmission,
Voith says it is calling the system Aladin Beyond and claims it is an intuitive, data-driven monitoring and maintenance package that offers everything from a single source in one report.
“Our new support solution for bus fleet management offers our customers an innovative and efficient option for monitoring and servicing their buses in combination with our proven SmartCase tool,” explained Julia Rosenfeld, the project manager for Aladin Beyond at Voith Turbo.
” SmartCase collects and transmits all relevant data to the cloud and then produces detailed reports that are sent to the customer automatically by email, either weekly or monthly depending on their specific preferences and requirements,” Voith claims
The company claims the centerpiece of the platform is a monitoring system that continuously captures and evaluates the vehicle’s data.
It said that Aladin Beyond registers current malfunctions as well as also also monitors apparently rectified problems which the company says is a crucial advantage to create transparency and identify recurring problems in good time.
The company claims that preventive maintenance has been taken to a new level due to the evaluation of historical operating data,, because the platform identifies maintenance needs before critical failures occur, it claims.
Voith claims this results in reduced life cycle costs, optimised vehicle performance, and lasting protection of investment value.
“Another key feature is that the maintenance team is notified automatically whenever problems are identified,” says Rosenfeld.
“The system can automatically alert to maintenance requirements, allowing problems to be rectified promptly. The direct communication between Aladin Beyond and fleet operators minimizes response times and administrative work,” she said
Voith claims Aladin Beyond can take things a step further If desired, via its interface to the Voith Turbo parts webshop. As a result the company says parts that are needed can be ordered directly from a link in the maintenance report. The company claims this seamless integration significantly accelerates the procurement process for customers.
“The detailed analysis of vehicle efficiency is another impressive feature,” Rosenfeld added.
“For example, Aladin Beyond analyses the braking behaviour per kilometre travelled or the percentage of kick-down accelerations,” she said.
The company says that with the help of this data, fleet managers can identify wear-intensive driving styles in good time and take appropriate countermeasures as needed.
Voith claims all reports and analyses are available as PDFs anytime and anywhere, regardless of device used, from desktops to smartphone or tablets. and that this means that fleet managers can access a constant overview.
Head of product management service at Voith Turbo. claims Tobias Ehrensperger, Aladin Beyond marks a milestone in the digitalisation of bus operation and fleet management.
“Thanks to the targeted application of decades of product expertise, data-driven diagnostics of the highest standard are combined with practical usability, creating the ideal conditions for much more efficient monitoring and maintenance of buses,” Ehrensperger said.
“As a result, bus operators benefit from reduced downtimes, optimised maintenance cycles, and a bus fleet that is more cost efficient overall, both today and in the future,” Ehrensperger stressed.
