ISUZU TO SUPPLY HINO WITH N SERIES FOR SALE IN THE USA

In an ever changing and shifting global truck market Japan’s two largest truck makers have shocked the market today by announcing that Hino will sell diesel trucks made by Isuzu Motors. at Hino dealers in the U.S. and Canada starting in October.

The agreement  will involve Isuzu supplying its N-series light-duty diesel trucks to Hino for the North American market. The OEM agreement was negotiated and concluded between Hino’s consolidated subsidiary, Hino Motors Sales U.S.A,  and Isuzu North America Corporation.

Hino said the supply agreement will have a minor impact on its earnings for the fiscal year ending March 2022.

Hino revealed last  December that it would suspend production of vehicles at two North America plants, citing issues in  meeting the U.S. engine certification testing. Hino said at the time that it planned to resume production at the two plants in October this year  it is not clear how this will  affect that projected production re start in the USA or how it affects Hino’s arrangement with Cummins that it announced earlier this year .
