Komatsu Turns 50

Komatsu is  celebrating a half century in Australia this year and  has launched a special customer giveaway to celebrate.

It was in August 1965 when Le Tourneau Westinghouse was appointed as nationwide distributor for the fledgling brand, selling a quite small product range.

Komatsu now provides Australia with a large range of earthmoving, mining, construction and utility equipment.

Sean Taylor, managing director of Komatsu says he is proud to see how the company has grown over the last half century.

“Our equipment has been at the front and centre of many significant infrastructure developments and mining activities over the last five decades, helping our customers to complete large-scale projects that have contributed to the sustainable economic growth of Australia,” he said.

To celebrate this achievement Komatsu will be giving every customer that purchases new equipment a chance to win a trip to the Bauma Expo.

“The reason we’ve been able to prosper here in Australia is our commitment to quality, reliability and innovation of our machines and technologies. Some of the first Komatsu products we sold in Australia are still going strong, 50 years later,” Sean Taylor added
