MAN ANNOUNCES NEW COACH EQUIPPED WITH MARCOPOLO BODY

MAN’s australian distributor Penske  has announced that, MAN’s RR8 coach chassis is now available in Australia fitted with  Marcopolo’s Audace 1050 body.

The  new coach is powered by MAN’s latest generation D15 Euro 6 engine, and the company claims the new chassis and body combination deliver a ‘high-quality product at a cost-effective price with great versatility’, saying that it makes it ideal for coach, school, and intercity applications.

Penske says customers will also reap the benefits of Marcopolo’s ownership of local bodybuilder Volgren and its extensive national support network.

“It’s fantastic to extend our existing partnership with Volgren to now include one of the world’s largest bus body manufacturers – Marcopolo,” said Crinel Geaboc, head of MAN bus and coach at Penske Australia.

“MAN’s new 330 hp nine-litre D15 engine boasts the latest diesel technology and sits between the existing D08 and D20 engines MAN also offers. We also have a high performance 360 hp variant.

“The vertical engine D15 engine is also lighter, equating to an increase in passenger payload, greater efficiency and performance, and improved service intervals, which all leads to a reduced total cost of ownership.

“The package will also comprise a safety pack including lane guard system, electronic stability program, emergency brake assist, a three-year entire chassis warranty, and more.

“Excitingly, our first order for this new combination was received from Ventura in Melbourne for four units delivered last month.”
