An Australian-based digital freight company, Ofload, has announced two significant executive changes within its operation, which it says will enable it to continue to strengthen its team across the core functions of its business.

The company announced that Karishma Bhatt has been promoted to the position if vice president of commercial, while Rebecca Smith has taken on an expanded role as VP, Ops enablement and transformation.

The company’s new executive leadership team joins recently appointed vice president of finance  Ludivine Scheidecker,  Rimonda Ohlsson as  people and culture vice president, along with vice president of engineering,Richard Sands n in bolstering Ofload’s management team.

Ofload calms that it has raised more than $100 million since being founded in 2019, across seed, series A, series B and B+ funding rounds, and  says that it has grown its team to more than 150 employees.

The company  claims it has built a nationwide network of small and medium transport operators in that time, which now moves freight for a number of Australia’s largest brands.

It claims that its growth has taken it in the last 18 months into a period defined by operational rigour, commercial discipline, and long-term value creation.

“This is a significant step in Ofload’s growth trajectory and growth at this scale demands a leadership team built to match it, so these appointments reflect a deliberate investment in an executive leadership team that will lead Ofload through its next chapter, as we build toward sustainable, long-term growth,” siad the company’s founder and CEO, Geoffrey Henry.

“Karishma Bhatt and Rebecca  Smith both bring the calibre of experience that requires,”  said  Henry.

“Karrishma brings more than a decade of commercial and operational leadership across Australian logistics, including roles at efm Logistics, Fedex and CouriersPlease,” he added.

“As Ofload’s new vice president of commercial, she will lead the company’s commercial strategy end to end, with her mandate spanning new business, pricing and revenue performance, and deepening the company’s relationships with major shippers as we continue to scale nationally,” he said.

Karishma Bhatt  said that Ofload has built something genuinely unique in this industry, and  that the opportunity to bring the same commercial discipline and customer focus  to it  has energised her after more than a decade in logistics.

The company also said that Rebecca Smith brings more than a decade of operations and transformation leadership across major Australian supply chains, including roles at Woolworths, where she led large-scale digital transformation across the retailer’s supply chain.

In Smith’s expanded role at Ofload, she will lead its operations enablement and transformation function, with her mandate spanning network reliability, service performance, and the technology and process transformation needed to run a nationwide freight network at this scale.

We’re not just running a freight network, we’re building the operating model for what this business becomes. That’s a rare thing to get to build from the inside, and it’s why this next chapter matters to me.”  said Smith.

Ofload claims that it is Australia’s leading digital freight partner,  saying that it helps businesses achieve efficient, flexible and sustainable supply chains, with a nationwide carrier network servicing shipments across all types of freight.

The company claims that it connects leading brands such as Asahi, AB Foods, Kimberly-Clark, Allied Pinnacle and Noumi with carriers in a smarter way to fill empty shipping capacity, utilising the thousands of kilometres of journeys per year otherwise wasted, and reducing CO2 emissions.

The company says that it actively supports Australia’s small business carriers, connecting small-to-medium-sized transport operators from the “long tail” of the nation’s$76 billion road freight industry, with the largest brands and shippers.
