PRIX CAR HAS A SHIFT TO BENZ

Leading vehicle automotive logistics company, PrixCar Services has announced it has  expanded its fleet of enclosed vehicle carriers with new Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks, however the company is not saying exactly how many it is adding to its fleet

The  newtrucks will be used for highly-specialised vehicle movements and final mile deliveries, moving one vehicle at a time and they will be finished in PrixCar’s ‘Move My Wheels brand livery.

PrixCar Services, says its ‘Move My Wheels’. brand is its retail arm and provides an Australian-wide vehicle transport service with  a variety of transport options for customers across the country.

The new MercedesAtegos will often be used for the last leg of the transport journey, delivering vehicles to locations with limited access, or where larger trucks simply can’t go.

Prix Car said that its custom-built enclosed bodies ensure protection from the elements, as well as allowing customers to protect the vehicle from prying eyes.

“We chose the Atego for our new enclosed carriers as the design of the chassis requires very little modification to be able to build our bespoke body on,” said PrixCar national fleet manager, Goran Koviloski.

“The new Atego allows us to increase the size of vehicle that we can carry in our one-car enclosed service offering but keep the compact nature of the truck to still be able to offer our service to those hard-to-reach locations,” Koviloski added.

PrixCar says it also values the advanced safety features that come as standard with the new Mercedes-Benz Ategos, which are fitted with Active Brake Assist Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), which Daimler says can automatically brake the vehicle even if the driver fails to respond to a potential impact.

The new Atego is also fitted with Active Sideguard Assist and Front Guard Assist, systems that monitor all angles and blind spots around the truck on the road to assist the driver.

Delivered by Daimler Trucks Laverton, PrixCar is no stranger to Mercedes-Benz trucks, taking delivery of Actros prime movers last year.

Traditionally Prix Car has been a bog Iveco fleet but the recent purchases, no matter that we can’t confirm hw bog or small the fleet purchases have been signal a strong alliance with Benz.

“We have established a great relationship with Mercedes-Benz as we also make use of the Actros in our fleet. With the reviews we have had on the road from our drivers of the latest Actros, it was an easy decision to open the conversation and explore the new Atego for other areas of our fleet,” Koviloski said.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific vice president of sales and marketing, Andrew Assimo, said the Atego trucks are perfect for the ‘Move My Wheels’ fleet.

“The Atego is perfectly suited to provide a premium vehicle delivery service with its clever design and advanced safety technology,” Assimo said.

“Move My Wheels helps customers move their vehicles safely and reliably, so it only makes sense they do use a Mercedes-Benz truck,” Assimo added.

Mercedes Benz said that the  new Atego features the OM936 8-litre six-cylinder Euro 6 emissions standards boasting 240hp and 1000Nm of torque, paired with the Powershift 3 six-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
