Paccar brand, DAF used the recent Brisbane Truck Show to debut its newest additions, with the new Australian made DAF XG 15L 660hp, one of its highlights as the new locally engineered and modified DAF has already quickly establishing itself since its release late last year.
The American truck giant emphasised that it continues to invest in sustainability, and emission reduction for the long haul, displaying its experience with a real-world working example of its own zero-emission technology by showing the DAF XB electric.
Alongside the DAFs on display the Bayswater manufacturer showed several of its latest additions to the best selling Kenworth heavy duty range, including the T320, T420SAR, T620 and T620SAR with Kenworth claiming they have been developed to meet the growing demands of modern-day Australian transport, and representing what it described as the “best of Kenworth design and engineering”.
“It was great to be in Brisbane again and be part of this important industry event, and we enjoy being able to connect with so many of our customers in the one location and bringing the latest Paccar has to offer from across its truck brands and support services,” said Paccar Australia’s director of sales and marketing, Michael Long,
Long described its stand in Brisbane this year as one that presents new product options and solutions, perfectly equipped for our challenging industry landscape.
“This included demonstrating Paccar’s proprietary telematics technology Paccar Connect, which it claims offers advanced and intuitive, yet simple to navigate solutions, and provides the power to streamline and optimise transport operations like never before”. Long continued.
The company says its new XG range has built on the European success of the New Generation DAF range, and emphasised that it is exclusively produced at its manufacturing operation at Bayswater in Melbourne.
The company claims that the new XG and XG+ have the power and capability to be an asset to your business with Meritor axles and Airglide suspension, 97 tonne GCM and 3200Nm of Torque, wrapped up in a huge 660 hp 15 litre engine, that it says is even lighter in weight and incredibly fuel efficient.
Paccar says it has largely replaced the European drivetrain to meet the rigours and realities of our challenging Australian freight task, with every detail optimised for efficiency, durability, driveability and ease of manoeuvring using a Cummins developed 15 litre engine.
The company claims that it has run almost seven million kilometres of local validation, with operators across the country and that its engineering team working in partnership with Paccar centres of excellence around the world, assuring customers can be confident this powerful and efficient long-haul solution is ready for Australia.
Alongside the current CF450 and CF530 models, DAF also presented its ‘zero emission’ DAF XB Electric.
The company claims the DAF XB Electric, which is currently in Australia for evaluation, encompasses the best-in-class driver comfort, drivability, efficiency and safety features.
The company claims the 19-tonne rated DAF XB Electric is perfectly suited for sustainable inner-city and regional distribution due to the spacious yet compact cab design and the unique manoeuvrability and small turning circle.
Paccar claims its commitment to driving future low and zero emissions technologies means Kenworth and DAF trucks will continue to be at the forefront of innovation and technology implementation.
