NHVR BACKS NEW ATA CHAIR

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has welcomed the appointment of Mark Parry as Chair of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).

As we reported last week, Mr. Parry, the boss of Ron Finemore Transport, has ascended to the top spot at the ATA.

NHVR Chair Duncan Gay AM said the regulator is looking forward to working with incoming Chair Mark Parry, who has an extensive background in transport and logistics.

“On behalf of the NHVR Board and staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Parry on his recent appointment as Chair of the ATA,” Mr Gay said.

NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto OAM said he looked forward to continuing the collaborative partnership between the NHVR and the ATA, including with ATA CEO Mathew Munro, in driving positive change and advocating for the interests of heavy vehicle drivers and operators nationwide.

Together Mr. Gay and Mr. Petroccitto also wished outgoing Chair David Smith all the best for his future endeavors, as he transitions into retirement.

“The NHVR thanks Mr. Smith for his extensive contributions to the heavy vehicle industry, and the invaluable partnership he has maintained with our organization over the years,” Mr. Gay said.

“We value the critical role ATA plays in promoting best practices and ensuring continued safety and efficiency on our roads, and following Mr Parry’s appointment, I know together, we will continue to drive improved outcomes for the industry.”
