Isuzu updates FX and FY heavy truck range

ISUZU UPDATES 2018 F-SERIES HEAVY DUTY RANGE

In response to owner suggestions Isuzu has introduced a number of new features to the FX and FY heavy-duty truck range including some new configurations for 2018.

Isuzu is Australia’s top-selling truck brand and they want to maintain that position by providing more of everything to their new owners and operators.

Of the many changes introduced for the FX/FY for 2018 are:

  • Eight new variants in the FX range
  •  Three new additions to the FY range
  • Standard fitment of satnav
  • New coolant temperature gauges
  • Relocated height sensors
  • Uprated alternator (to 90A)
  • Standardised tail lamp connectors/ABS connectors (across various models)

Isuzu Australia’s Chief Engineer, Product Strategy, Simon Humphries says the new variants, with a now wider selection of transmission and wheelbase options, are the result of customer feedback on the heavy-duty truck range.

“We were very conscious of the strengths of previous incarnations of the FX and FY ranges and we were looking to build on these characteristics.”

“Isuzu has chosen to maintain the competitive power and torque ratings of the popular 6UZ1-TC engine, even when fitted with an Allison automatic, by selecting the higher capacity HD Series transmission.

“The result is superior performance, towing capacity and durability for Isuzu operators.”

All FX 4×2 and 6×2 models now feature a 38,000 kg GCM rating, regardless of transmission, while all FX 6×4 and FY 8×4 and 10×4 models have a standard GCM rating of 45,000kg.
