Scania has announced it is about to launch a brand-new, battery-electric powered CrewCab truck at the upcoming Interschutz exhibition in Germany as part of its line-up of electric and combustion vehicles.

Scania is claiming it will have  its strongest-ever range of power solutions also on show with a comprehensive offering for fire, airport and civil rescue applications.

The company says that it  has made huge strides in its vehicles and power solutions since the last Interschutz in 2022, with what it is claiming industry-leading options delivering safety, reliability and greater sustainability in terms of low and zero emission-solutions and better fuel efficiency.

Interschutz is being staged in Hannover from the 1st to 6th June and Scania among other things is claiming a world first reveal among an array of  five trucks, which it says will  showcase its  powerful range of electric and combustion engine trucks.

The headline act at Interschutz for Scania will be its new CrewCab battery-electric truck, which will be the first time it has fitted a battery electric power train in a CrewCab.

Scania will also display a P-cab battery-electric truck, as well as a CP28 normal roof with a new engine for the segment, its new   Super 11, recently launched here in Australia, which is claimed to be Scania’s most efficient combustion powertrain platform ever.

along with those trucks there will also be aCP31 low roof, also with the Super 11 engine, and a turntable ladder truck with a Scania chassis and a body by Rosenbauer, with a 4×2 chassis configuration and anine-litre engine.

Scania’s solutions manager Louise Johnson said that the five trucks  at Interschutz showcase are part of its extensive range of cabs and modular systems for fire, airport and civil rescue applications.

“These are addressing customers’ needs for safe, reliable and sustainable solutions, and an operating environment that aims to keep the crew and surroundings safe and supported,” said Johansson.

“Our new battery-electric CrewCab and P-cab electric truck meet the segment’s growing demand for low and zero-emission solutions, without sacrificing safety reliability or uptime,” she said.

“The inclusion of the Super 11 powertrain in the CP28 and CP31 trucks brings the possibility for operators to make fuel efficiency savings of up to ten per cent” Johnson claims.

“Together, our line-up shows that Scania in 2026 is a truck manufacturer that continues to set the pace in safe, sustainable and reliable premium operations,” she concluded

Scania will also have a portfolio of power solutions portfolio on its stand, ranging from its tried-and-tested V8 engine through to electric and hybrid power solutions to future-proof airport firefighting customers for their sustainable transport journey.

The Scania power portfolio is claimed to  prioritises reliability, robustness, uptime and the flexibility to support customers whether they have combustion engine, hybrid or fully electric solutions, with  all offering sustainable operations without compromising on performance and backed by a global service network.

Scania’s head of power solutions, Sara Hermansson, said “it comes to Interschutz with one of its strongest and most comprehensive offerings yet for the fire and airport rescue segment.

“With a broad portfolio spanning proven V8 combustion engines, electric machines and battery solutions, we support operators through the transition to more sustainable, decarbonised operations, without compromising on performance and reliability,” said Hermansson.

“With decades of experience and close collaboration with leading airport fire rescue and firefighting manufacturers, we are proud of our power – and ready for more,” she said.
