If  Venn diagrams were drawn for Australian truck marketers indicating both truck operators and an interest in the premier local race category, Supercars, then most truck company marketing managers would, we imagine see large overlaps between the two, otherwise all of the major truck brands would probably not be involved.

While Kenworth and Hino have major deals with the Supercar organisation as truck suppliers and sponsors, most of the leading teams have struck deals with all the leading truck brands to not just have their name on the team race cars but  also most importantly to supply high cost prime movers to haul the fleet of B-Double race transporters around the country.

This week Mack Trucks announced an extension to the three year relationship it has had with Albury based Brad Jones Racing, which this year switched from racing Chevies to the new V8 Toyota Supras.

Brad Jones Racing has just taken delivery of two new Euro 6 Mack Anthem prime movers to haul its race transporters around the country both of which are equipped with Mack’s 36-inch integrated walk-through sleeper cab, which the company says provides driver comfort when on the highway between races.

The two new Euro 6 Macks replace the Euro 5 Anthems that the team took delivery of in 2023 and will continue to be serviced and supported by local border region dealers, CMV Truck and Bus across the Murray in Wodonga.

Mack tells us the new trucks are powered by its 13-litre MP8HE engine  which is mated to the new generation 12-speed mDrive AMT, while Mack claims that the aerodynamic Anthem is well placed to continue to deliver dependable transport for the regionally based Supercar team.

Brad Jones reckons the team has stuck with the Bulldog brand for the efficiency, dependability and connectivity they deliver.

“The Macks have been a fantastic truck for us,  and it doesn’t matter if its from Albury down to Launceston, across to Perth or up to Darwin, our Macks travel the length of Australia hauling our race cars,” said Brad Jones.

“We have strict timelines to adhere to and our drivers know they can rely on Mack to make it every single time,” Jones added

Mack Trucks Australia’ vice president, Tony O’Connell,  said  it has been been getting great customer feedback on the MP8HE equipped Anthem when it comes to fuel efficiency.

“These trucks are also equipped with our Mack Connect telematics solution which provides fantastic visibility on fuel usage which gives operators the ability to monitor their fuel usage across their Mack fleet,” O’Connell said.

“Aerodynamics are just as important in trucking as they are in motor sport, removing drag saves fuel and the Anthem’s aero styling and the MP8HE powerplant make for a great combination,” he  said.

“I’m very pleased to continue our partnership with the BJR team and look forward to watching the team race with the kind of grit and tenacity that the Mack brand is famous for,” O’Connell concluded.
