Kenworth has announce that it has extended its partnership with Australia’s  premier motor racing category marking the 26th year it has supported and Supercars as  its official heavy duty truck sponsor and supplier.

it’s probably a mark of how many truck operators and people in the trucks industry are keen on Supercar racing that Kenworth continues to be a significant supporter  of the category and that so many pother truck brands are also involved in the sport. Hino continues to sign up as light and medium duty truck supplier, and many other brands including Isuzu, Volvo, Mack, Fuso, Mack  MAN Western Star and even Chinese truck brand FAW on board as supporter of various Supercar teams

Supercars’ transport and logistics manager, Jason Routley  was recently presented with the keys to a new Kenworth T620, as part of a three-year extension to the partnership between Supercars and Kenworth.

Supercars use two Kenworth prime movers to haul the logistical juggernaut across Australia, with both travelling more than 35,000 kilometres across the season.

The T620 hauls a B double set  configured to serve as a mobile boardroom and the Supercars media hub, while a Kenworth K220 is used to transport the safety and medical cars as well as the office facilities used by the Supercars motorsport team at tracks around the country.

Kenworth says that the Australian made T620 is ‘application engineered’ for the specific task of towing the Supercars B-Double set, and is powered by a 15 litre Cummins X15 Euro 6 engine mated to an Eaton Endurant XD Pro 18 speed transmission, and includes an aero roof with an 860mm integrated sleeper.

Paccar Australia says its team worked closely with Jason Routley and Supercars to ensure the specifications and level of customisation for the build met its requirements.

“We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with Supercars for another three years, by providing a transport solution that delivers on the logical demands faced by the team when transporting the series across Australia and over to New Zealand,”  said Paccar Australia’s director of sales and marketing Michael Long.

Kenworth and Supercars also announced that the truck maker will continue with the Kenworth Driver’s Parade at this year’s Bathurst 1000 in October.

Kenworth officially claimed naming rights for  the Bathurst Driver’s Parade 20 years ago in 2006, and since then customers from across Australia have been given the opportunity to drive their Kenworths around the famous Mount Panorama track 0n rqacxe day morning..

Kenworth says that Australian race fans will be able to check out the Supercars’ new T620 at the next domestic round at Simmons Plains near Launceston in Tasmania on 22-24 May.
